The 38th National Games Are Coming to Uttarakhand!

The 38th National Games of India will be held from 28th January to 14th February 2025 in the beautiful hill state of Uttarakhand. For the first time ever, athletes from all over India will come here to compete in exciting sports and celebrate teamwork, talent, and friendship.
Uttarakhand’s Big Moment
Uttarakhand is famous for its majestic mountains, rivers, and peaceful nature, but now, it will also become famous as a top sports destination. Over 8,000 athletes and officials from 28 states and 8 Union Territories will come to compete.
The main events will happen in Dehradun, but there will also be games in other places like Rishikesh, Nainital, Haldwani, Auli, and Haridwar.
The mascot of the games is inspired by the Monal, a beautiful bird that is the state bird of Uttarakhand.
Grand Opening Ceremony
The games will start with an amazing opening ceremony on 28th January 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. You will see traditional music, dance, and a parade of athletes from all over India. The Honourable Prime Minister will officially open the event, and there will be lots of fun and excitement to kick off the games!
Sports and Venues
This year, the National Games will have 36 different sports, including some unique ones that match Uttarakhand’s natural beauty.
1. Athletics: At Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun
2. Shooting: At Haridwar Shooting Range
3. Water Sports: Kayaking and Rowing in Rishikesh
4. Winter Sports: Skiing and Snowboarding in Auli
5. Cycling and Mountain Biking: On the trails of Mussoorie
6. Wrestling, Boxing, and Kabaddi: At the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Haldwani
The most exciting part is the winter sports like skiing, which show how Uttarakhand is perfect for adventure sports.

The games will conclude on 14th February 2025 with a spectacular closing ceremony in Haldwani. There will be performances by famous artists, and the game’s flag will be handed over to the next host state. It will be a day to celebrate all the hard work of the athletes and organizers.
